Memmingen, Bavaria, Germany cariverga... Jahren leer.

Unfortunately, the second bodge didn't quite make it all the way we needed it to, and just into Austria (Bregenz), we heard the ominous noise we had heard before. We pulled into a garage, as we all wanted to refuel, then moved over onto the forecourt and took another look under the bonnet. Our fears were confirmed, the rope had worn through, but we had managed over 130 miles on it. So after a few failed ...
Our next stop was St Gallen, home of a beautiful abbey with a medieval library and neighbouring by a charming Old Town. We walked around the abbey exterior before everyone went inside, with the exception of Lincoln and I. I have been here before and know it is a very ornate baroque design inside.
Next, we walked to the abbey library which houses the largest medieval collection of books in the world, basically. There was an admission to go in and my ...

He then explained that a high wire artist was to very shortly, walk across on the wire from the church to the office block, which was the New St Gallen Regional or County Council Offices. This, all to officially open the said NEW offices! Shortly afterwards a figure appeared from a small doorway in the church and this chap Walked the wire ...

Lindau, Bavaria, Germany ankorjuglorToday we drove to Lindau, Germany, and did our own walking tour. Lindau is an island in the eastern part of Lake Constance. It was quite overcast, but still lovely. I'm sure that on a warm summer day it would be filled with people sitting in the sun and enjoying all the open air cafes.
Then we were off around the lake ...
