... blog better than I've been keeping up my exercise regime and I was looking forward to a good stretch. I was surprised by the turn out of people - there was about 50 all up. The whole class was in Spanish, so I was one step behind, but it was really peaceful. Walked for about an hour - reached the snow line- starting to get a bit chilly - then 2 guys skiied past on the track so decided it was time to return to catch last cable car of the day back down to our hotel. ... the secure apartment, several keys and locks and the police station just down the street, we feel very safe! Once settled in, we located the recommended " Supermarket " only to find it was along the lines of Covent Market in London with 3 floors of multiple vendors. We managed to secure our usual menu of meat, cheese, bread and wine. And oh yes some milk and water too.. We then strolled the cobblestoned streets and wound our way to Puerta del Sol, the center of Old Madrid ...

... We returned home later that evening after spending hours exploring the mountains and becoming quiet well acquainted with our fellow hikers and the many animals that shared our paths. After cleaning up we had a great dinner at the refuge where we split a bottle of red wine and relaxed watching the sunset in the mountains.

The next morning we met a young couple who were visiting from Bilbao to hike the mountains, and they quickly became good friends. Instead of taking the ...
