Travel Day

Another relatively boring post, since today was basically just a travel day. Literally we traveled for over 24 hours! I was amazed that I actually slept relatively well last night. It was really cramped and claustrophobic on the bunk and really hard to get up and down from. Luckily I didn't need to get out a lot, I just sort of stayed up there and did my own thing. The train ride took ...

Today was our last day or Summit/Training before we leave for camp. We ate breakfast in the cafeteria as we have been for the last few days. We had some sort of fried bread which looked like a doughnut and was pretty good. It was a very windy day in China, a breeze is a rarity so it was a nice surprise. We had our last two meetings which we talked more about safety at camp and the social dynamics of camp. I didn't get to sit throughout the full social session because one ...

The egg and onion dish which became a staple for us on our trip last summer finally made an appearance and it was delicious. There was also a noodle soup which tastes just like ...

Each book will contain a picture of the camp, picture of the family group and picture of the child themselves. The other pages are open for each camp to add to them as they see fit. Right now I am think about having a page left open for "autographs" for all their new camp friends to sign and possibly something ...

First Full Day

Today was a pretty laid back day, as most of the staff arrived at some point today. I did get to go on a short tour of parts of the campus. The school is only 15 years old, with many of the buildings being built in only the last few years. So as you could imagine, it is a very nice campus. The older section of the school actually was an old amusement park the the founder bought! One person said that it ...
