... But did you know NASCAR's cannot be run on a wet track surface. So after waiting patiently for the majority of the day, watching the rain get heavier and then lighter, we were a but guttered to hear that racing has be postponed until Sunday.
We unfortunately had a plane to catch to Dallas, Texas, no NASCAR racing for us :(
Oh well, got the t-shirt and the cap and a reason to come back! ...
... reached the visitor centre, through green and very pretty countryside and a bunch of small towns. We took the distillery tour and the first stop was one of the barrel houses containing some 6000 barrels of whiskey slowly aging. We were allowed to poke our heads in the door for a sniff, and oh my gosh it was incredible.
We walked around the plant and learnt a heap of history and how JD is crafted. ...
... but it was good.
We had a mostly good night's sleep, and got up early again. We had to eat breakfast, pack up and check out, and hit the road in time for Heidi to make her 1:15 pm Chemistry class in Mooresville.
We arrived in Mooresville in time to unload the car and take Heidi to class. We took her because at least one of our cars is not running ...
Its time for another great adventure and I am all packed and ready to go. I was so glad that I kept a blog of my last trip and had great feedback from those who read it, that I decided to make another one for this trip. My friend (Marie) and I are headed to 3 great countries: France, Italy, and Spain and are excited for it all to start! Flights leave tonight.....tomorrow = ...
The next morning was busy. We made breakfast while Chris got some last minute work done and then did a final load of laundry. We wanted to clean the van a bit before we left since the next chance we get will be a month from now. We got out the vacuum and the Windex and scrubbed it from top to bottom. Cooking in the van causes the windows t get covered in this weird starchy crystals that are impossible to get off. I have been slowly cleaning ...
