    ... front promenade and let me tell you, it was magnificent. There was so much happening it's like a mini carnival that never leaves. I drove a car for the first time around a racing track whilst my brother drove a mini quad bike around another track!     ... the truck we spent an hour & a half doing circles of Salvador's favelas trying to find our way out of the city, but we finally headed on out.     Mad dogs, Englishmen...and I...go out in the midday sun! The weather has been a scorcher since I arrived and I overdid it a little on my first day, with an exploratory wander when birds and workmen alike were taking shelter in any available shade! I found my shade at a local oceanarium, which was a little naff but the tiny turtles were cute!
