We spent 3 days visiting all the temples in Angkor and I would like to say they were all amazing. However, Angkor Wat stole my heart away, it was absolutely breathtaking. The temple is the epitome of the high classical style of Khmer architecture and is the largest temple in the world. It has become a symbol of Cambodia and appears on the national flag. We visited Angkor Wat at sunrise but on our final day we made a last minute decision to go back, this time at right before dusk and right bef...

From there we drove up into the highlands of Bali to a village called Munduk, where we hiked to a beautiful waterful, and Aimee found out that there are indeed places in the world that do not have the internet, anywhere. Work just had to wait that day.
We ended our Bali adventure back in the south, with a ...
... a happy pizza. He has a rat tail hanging out the back of his head. And he's probably the funniest person we have ever met. He showed us good places to eat and we ate. He then started dancing with a local kid to some gangsta music. Soon more ad more children were turning up to join in. He was being chased by these local kids and seemed to have some magical power over them. A beautiful sight...seeing all these kids so happy just to be running around with a big American man.

Eventually, we got to Siem Reap and were welcomed into our new hotel, the Jasmine Lodge, by its owner, Mr Kunn. I have spoken to Mr Kunn on Skype many times organizing this leg of the trip and he’s been fantastic to work with – it’s good to meet him in person.

... their obvious poverty... a recurring feature of the so called "third" world! They are also very trusting/not jaded when it comes to travelers... case in point, your tuk tuk driver will chauffeur you around for 8 hours in the morning, deliver you back to your hotel and without payment, head off and wait for another 4 hours to pick you up again for an evening session. It would be a travesty if unscroupulous travelers were to take advantage...
... if they were high I would not pressure him to eat there. When we walked in the cool feeling of air conditioning greeted us and the place had linens on the tables, the arts and crafts decorating it beautifully. I sighed, sure the menu would be outrageous as I saw they sold handmade ice cream and baked goods. But, to our surprise the menu items were exactly the same as they were at the restaurants outside and they catered to both ...
Angkor Wat, Cambodia claraz8... run out of money. I decided not to scrimp to just stay for longer, instead I'm not hesitating to do the things I really want to do, even if I go over budget. I'll be back in a couple of weeks probably, not sure exactly yet :) Still have a few things I want to do, and after all, I've still got to get across Cambodia, into Thailand, down to Bangkok, and then on to Malaysia, all the way down to Kuala Lumpur... by any means....
Speak to you soon

... 1000 U.S. to replace a pair of working water buffalo. That is a King's ransom in Cambodia. The family said the buffalo died from Salmonella, because they weren't vaccinated. They couldn't afford to consult a vet, so the buffalo could have died from anything. And those buffalo's dung had been liberally spread over the entire rice field where we were working.
I later rush back to the hotel to go online and check on ...
