Days 1&2 Atlanta and Rome, Italy
Thursday, Friday, June 2-3, 2011
Mom dropped us at the airport about 12:30pm. We had plenty of time to check our luggage, make it through security and even browse the airport stores a bit before our 3 pm flight to Philly. I was worried about the layover in Philly because it was only an hour. We were just a bit late but not enough to matter …
Rome- Day 3
Sat, June 4, 2011
We both woke up at 4 am. We were both wide awake and starving. Never getting sleepy, we were at the hotel breakfast at 7 am and on the metro at 8 am. We arrived at St. Peters at 8:30 and were inside by 9 am. The line was really long, but only 1/3 as long as it would be by the time we walked out of the basilica. The only …
Rome - we have arrived!
Big day today. We started the morning just working out the public transport system. the Metro isn't so good because they can't do lot of digging on Rome so it's all buses which i am not that used too. We purchased a map though which has all of the bus stops marked on it and we soon worked it out. Once you work it out it is great and you can get …
Last Day
Not very happy that it is our last day. It was a huge three weeks and we have seen so much and definitely need some time to relax and recover but traveling and experiencing new things has been so much fun.
First, we headed to Termini station and put our luggage in storage for the day and then headed for the Cappuchin Crypt. This place was …
Don't cry for me Roma
... cultures accomplished without the tools we take for granted today.
Taormina, Sicily: A beautiful city with stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea. OK, it is a bit touristy with all the shops, but the city exemplifies what you think of when imagining a Mediterranean seaside city.
Positano, Italy: It’s on the Amalfi Coast and it’s stunning. I didn’t want to leave. Perhaps I can get a job as ...

Historical Traveler Reviews Hotel Re di Roma Rome
Good value smart hotel
New hotel (opened autumn 2007) in a quiet location about 100 metres from Re di Roma metro - convenient for the major sites
Rooms are small but smart, clean and modern
Reception staff friendly and helpful
Breakfast in small room (when the hotel is full you might have to wait), with possibly the worst cup of coffee I have ever had anywhere (and in Italy too!) - ask the waitress to bring you a capuccino or espresso - much better!
Overall very good value for Rome and a perfect base to explore the main attractions
Cannot Stop Raving About Hotel Re Di Roma
I was a bit hesitant when we first booked this hotel as we couldn’t find any reviews in English... but we saw some positive remarks on a forum and decided to stick to our booking... and I'm so glad we did!
Eccellente
Struttura completamente nuova, personale gentilissimo e disponibile.
- zuvorkommender, sehr freundlicher Service (z.B. Einchecker-
laubnis vor 11:00, Gepäckaufbewahrung am letzten Tag)
- hervorragende Kommunikationsmöglichkeit (Deutsch /
Englisch)
- Frühstück reichhaltig und gut
- sehr sauber
Nuovo hotel a Roma, in zona tranquilla e ben servita dai mezzi pubblici.
