... of kindness the couples demonstrated to one another were: Ken carrying Frances's heavy bag, in addition to his own, Jocelyne quietly translating something for Yves when he didn't hear the conversation and Ellen's response to Henrik's fall. And of course, I have Don. After twenty years of being married, we have created our own manner of demonstrating our love for one another. As with any relationship, there are numerous examples ...

... say I won't return. I've spent most of today by the pool planning the next part of our trip. Oh, i also ate my first really weird thing. BBQ'd squid.

... night.

During my final week, I ventured along the short coast to the end of the island, went fishing for squid (with a good group of friends from Thailand and Sweden), finished a book, finally took the snorkeling boat trip, and attended an amazing beach BBQ put on by generous new Dutch friends. And, on my last day, I got my first tattoo, an emblem depicting my memorable time and growth in the Pacific Northwest, and love for the outdoors, which I’ve been loosely sketching ...
