... just like being at home! Apart from the temples carved into the cliffs dating back to 400BC. We got onto a boat to travel down the river delta, it was spooky (or was to me as I was the only one who had seen Apocalypse Now). If I had heard choppers I would have been diving for cover. We had another swim (and a body surf!) at the river mouth before a beautiful lunch and a memorable visit to the thermal baths. The ritual was: step into the mud pool, extract a huge pile of ...

By all accounts it was quite a rough flight with at least a couple being unwell but I barely noticed. A nice change. Just on our approach to Exeter airport now.

We finally arrive at Caunos. This is a town from the 6th century BC. It was conquered by the Romans in the 1st century BC and remained under their ...

A leisurely get up but in time for breakfast. Then we took the 11am ferry to Tunruc, an idilic bay our rep had said. Not so much so when you come from the West Country. The boat ride was nice though. We wandered quickly through the village, lots of the same shops but no salesmen calling out to us constantly. We stopped for a beer at a waterfront cafe then caught the first taxi back to the hotel. Another nice boat ride. Back in time for lunch. I tried out the lady in ...

... rang. Very sorry but rain is coming so A la carte reservation cancelled. Who knew the restaurant was outdoors. Somewhat disappointed we went down to the dining hall and eventually found a table, again adequate food but nothing special. We took a short walk around the shops in the evening avoiding the live band in the main bar area. This even managed to drown out the neighbouring bar when we went up to our room. It didn't ...
