Each kilometre south, the landscape becomes verdant to to the point that the terrain could be Ireland in April without the daffodils or Ontario even. Grapes give way to grazing grass and cows and sheep suddenly appear. Turning off rte 5 the Pan American highway we hit two lane blacktop dead straight towards Argentina across rolling hills. ... staring and waiting for that huge crash that will inevitably happen when the lake finally eats its way through the glacier, liberating the lake until the ice advances once more.
