We also noticed signs on the beaches which warned of Tsunamis. Just outside our hotel, was a shop that one walked downstairs to get into it. Apparently a number of tourists had lost their lives in this shop on 26 December 2004. One got a strange feeling when being inside this shop and it made you want to get out quickly.

They have not finished making it and it is all covered in marble. the monks at the temple throw water on us which is some type of blessing and we bow in front of them while they put friendship bracelets on our hands. I love the feeling here even in the 35degree heat.

... have to pull one of the young boys out of the water as he was face down. Abit scary really and the poor little fella really got a fright but he was ok and continued to play in the water so the experience hadn't been too traumatising for him.
