We have now left the magnificent scenery of the mountains, and are now driving across the prairie with not much to see. We are going to spend the night in Rawlins. It here we meet a few interesting characters and spend some time conversing with them. Lots of cute little cotton bunnies wandering around the camp ground. Looks like we have a nice night here in Rawlins, as it can be one very windy place.

The drive from Salt Lake City to Laramie started out lovely. The mountains outside of the city glowed with fall colors, gorgeous reds and oranges climbing to the rocky peaks. Still, it was fast, particularly as we took five mile turns on the front riding as hard as we possibly could to reduce the mental agony and to try and reduce the chance of getting shot: hunting season opened today and we've seen a fair few rifles being wielded already! Next time we stop in civilization, we'll be in Colorado! Bring it on (sort ...

... We turned back west on I-80 into Wyoming. We had a great late lunch at Outback and made it back to the truck before the pounding rain started! I have not seen rain drops that big for a long time! And as we climbed up the mountain, the temperature went down, and farther down. The wind was blowing, and it was miserable driving. But as ...

Day 14 - August 28, 2013 Day two in Grand Teton NP and we started off with a drive to the Signal Mountain summit where we had beautiful views of the Tetons. From there we drove to String Lake. It was about 10:30 am and there were thick clouds in the sky and the air temperature was only 58 degrees. Nonetheless our little polar bears went swimming! As they swam in the crystal clear water the clouds cleared and the sun shone warmly. Still, they ...
