... get change and she gave me a wai and left. I assumed she was coming back but then I looked over and she was just sitting there waiting for her next table.

"Oh ****!" I thought, "She thought that was a tip! That is why she gave me such a deep wai!"

Turns out that the server gives the money to a bus boy that goes to the manager for change then returns it to the server who gave it back to me with a thank you. Odd but understandable. I left ...

... Wir dann weiter und alles war gut, doch dann fing der Fahrer an zu telefonieren und hielt an auf einem Seitenstreifen. Wir uns gewundert warum und auf einmal sagt er: ich fahre nicht mehr weiter und wir so: das geht nicht. Er meinte dann, dass ein anderer Fahrer komme w�rde in 10 Minuten. Wir also in seinem Van gewartet und nach 20 Minuten kam dann auch ein anderer fahrer. Wir also umgestiegen udn wieter gings. Bis jetzt wissen wir nicht wa slos war, ...

... they quickly lost interest and drove off. Very unusual behaviour for Thailand, so we were forced to conclude that they had all collaborated to fix this price and there was a gentleman’s agreement that none would undercut it. We gave up bargaining in favour of getting to the beach before the sun went down and handed over the contested 100 baht.
