    ... giants. We also saw hog dear and a porcupine amongst other animals but…did I mention WILD ASIAN ELEPHANTS…yes I thought I did.

    It's not that I see day one of our current mini adventure as a success; it is much deeper than that…I remember why I travel and I am starting to remember what is important to me in the world.

    ... with two girls not travelling together from California. Gareth, our Belfast teammate, even met a gentleman with whom they have shared acquaintances! Truly it is an example of how small this world is becoming!

    ... route up - only 100 or so steps. The holy monkeys ran and fought all around us as we climbed. The short climb was rewarded with views of the sprawling city of Kathmandu, shrouded with pollution, but breathtaking all the same.

    ... Lee. Decided on heading up north first, Chiang Mai before we get down to the islands. Met a class little tuk-tuk driver who dropped us at Khao Sam Road. Going to pick us up in the morning to sort Chiang Mai and see the markets. Few beers later, we are all eating scorpions which I'd compare to pork scratching.
