    ... some people watching. A lot of the tuk tuks are very well kept, with differing designs on them. And they also have names on them.     ... giants. We also saw hog dear and a porcupine amongst other animals but…did I mention WILD ASIAN ELEPHANTS…yes I thought I did.

    It's not that I see day one of our current mini adventure as a success; it is much deeper than that…I remember why I travel and I am starting to remember what is important to me in the world.

    ... 36. Seeing as I am a self-confessed loser at bartering, we weren't too sure it was a great deal, but it was cheap enough, fitted well and warm, all of which suited Ann's purpose. My major purchase was a head lamp for $5, not used as most were, but still in plastic impossible to open container. We all stopped at a small vendor near the hotel to buy bottled water. Then the group broke up for a quick nap.

    ... it's very difficult for taxis to get to John's place, it's almost as far to walk to the bus station as it is to catch a taxi. Also I had a 20 euro note with the intention of changing that to Baht in Thailand, plus some coin for bus fare, and a taxi would have meant I had to go back to the ATM - so it was easier to just catch the bus.
