... is very pretty. I passed the Jim Beam factory somewhere along the way, managed to get through Louisville with only a few scary moments and then crossed the Ohio River to New Albany, Indiana. After that driving was a breeze. They have room for shoulders on the road! The weather was a bit of overcast but no rain.

We had a great time in Champaign. I got to play pickleball twice and really enjoyed getting back on the court. I do miss playing! Our campground was very nice and the owners are very helpful. Gardner is a good example of what the interstates did to many of the Route 66 towns as half the buildings on its Main Street are empty and neglected. Next stop was to eat at the Old Route 66 Family Restaurant in Dwight where I had fried Catfish. Dwight also boasts a restored 1933 gas ...

... delay. Our plane's landing was delayed because of an impending storm. Then, it couldn't pull up to the gate for about an hour because there was lightening. Long story short, our departure was delayed, American Airlines screwed up our connecting information in Chicago, and so we got stuck in The Chi.

Yes, we should have been on an overnight flight to Dublin. Yes, we will end ...
