A minority of us decided to use our free day (a day when no meetings or other tours were planned) to skip the country. Helsinki is a short two-hour boat ride from Tallinn, Estonia where we were staying, and the appeal of chilly, spitting rain and grey skies so characteristic of Scandinavia was simply too hard to resist.

I spent my one and a half days walking around the city, checking out the lakes (something Finland is famous for), the old buildings and the architecture.
