... but I also have a small list of souvenirs I want to buy for people, and then I have to get that shipped off....oh, and I also have to go get my security deposit back from the residence. So, so confusing. Wooooooo

But it's been tough to say goodbye. Yesterday I had to see two of my friends before they left for trips elsewhere, but one of them I'll see in the fall when I go visit North Carolina. The other lives in Hungary, so ...

Anyway, Thursday late morning/early afternoon, a few of us internationals went to help a local animal shelter build some doghouses. We teamed up with some children at a local daycare-type place who all spoke English and a few professional builders to show people what to do, and spent about 4 hours working on it. It was a pretty fun experience, and a truly international group showed up - Leigha, Jessica ...

Well, I have one more day before I leave for a few days in London, and it will be a very busy day. After my morning class, I have an appointment at the Tartu Geology Museum to meet with one of the curators about spending some time volunteering at the museum. It will hopefully be a nice addition to my resume and grad school applications ...
Tartu, Estonia luggage06z... in the evenings. Well, I guess I'm going to try and upload some pictures. It's kind of a weird mix of various things we've done, but most of our activities centre around going to the bar/pub/restaurant places around here. In most cases, they're the same thing. You can go to a "bar" and get some food while you're sitting there, or you can go to a restaurant and only get beer or other drinks. At this point I'm not even sure what I've taken pictures of, so it'll be an adventure for me too.

I print them and Bev and I walk into town and drop them off at a copy shop for copying, collating and stapling. We then go to the Post Office to pick up the mail. There are some new subscription requests along and express mail to pick up from Johnnie of more literature. Among the subscription request is an address from ...
Tartu, Estonia victorkubikIn the morning we met Britt and Jim at the Pallas Hotell's restaurant Big Ben for breakfast. Bev and I had walked into town with the mailing which we packed into two roll-on suitcases which worked very well. We then went over the Post Office franking office and sent the mailing off. The average cost of mailing a piece - which included sending it to Estonia and eight other countries was 80 cents apiece. Some of mailing of the Good News and other ...

Tartu, Estonia victorkubik... left, this Estonian women decided to sit next to me instead of the other 200 open spaces. I was going to say something, but decided against it. I hope she didn't mind when I nodded off 3 times on her shoulder. Estonians aren't very affectionate, so I must have imagines she was going through the same torture as myself. I got to the Hotel Pallas in Tartu and crashed in the room until my family came back.

Consistent with being a university town, none of Tartu's museums open until 11 am, giving me a lazy morning before heading out to explore. First stop was a local grocery, where I grabbed some rolls for breakfast. Turns out they were filled with some sort of onion/cabbage mix, kind of like an Estonian spring roll...Not exactly my choice for breakfast, but at least they were filling. I headed uphill to Tartu's ...

Johnnie and I have enjoyed each other's company. On the way home we had a chance meeting with Merje, an extra competant lady who used to work for the Pallas Hotell where people generally stay for the Feast. She has a very bubbly perosnality. She now works for the ...
