I've finally made it far enough off the beaten track to escape from the tourist trail, which was getting a bit tiring (although I was part of it!). In Lithuania McDonald's (I know I shouldn't have gone in there!) I talk to a guy from Minsk who has hitch-hiked over to Vilnius to watch a band that aren't allowed to play in Belarus because he says they are the 'last dictatorship of Europe' and the band are pro-democracy. ... available.

I stared at the big map of the town in the main square. A Lithuanian couple, also tourists, started chatting. We discussed possibilities, and then I wandered off to try and find a bank to get out some Litas, as I only had about 49p in the local currency.

Some time later, I found a cash-machine, and bumped into the same couple again, who seemed to be taking ...
