Helen and I arrived yesterday after a day of train travel from London to St Bees, and Margot and Gail surprised us by walking over to ...

Our last morning in Harrogate wasn't great. Les fell in the shower so we were able to experience the hospitality of Harrogate A and E. They were very good and extremely friendly. After he was patched up we left for Keswick, it was about a two hour drive from Harrogate to Keswick, it poured with rain for most of the journey. We safe staying at Derwent Manor in Keswick and are totally unimpressed. On the ...

... the lake edge. There was a lot of activity on the lake, the ferries including the Gondola, a steam ferry which had been rebuilt after being resurrected from a watery grave. It is also popular with canoeists. We had lunch under the trees at the lake edge but it started to rain again so we didn't linger. Tess was funny. A Border Collie, she would drop her stick, not at your feet but a little way ...
