          A Very Comfortable Stay

This is a beautiful hotel and very comfortable. Our initial room was in the middle of remodeling and not quite finished, so we requested a room that was not being remodeled. They promptly took care of us and delivered the new cards for our new room.

My husband and I took advantage of the hotel lounge "Spirits" to enjoy a beer and visited with the bartender, Toni, then had a delicious leisurely dinner at the hotel restaurant, Reminting's having their prime rib and shrimp scampi and a glass of wine. Gretchen took great care of us.

Our only complaint was that the doors from other rooms were constantly slamming at all times of the night and the walls were thin and could hear people talking in the hall and from other rooms. Other than than I would highly recommend this hotel.

They had all types of clothing, tack, saddles, and over 10,000 boots from size 6 to 16.5 and widths from AAA to EEEE. Peg thought about a hat but ended up getting a Christmas ornament, the other thing she collects on these trips.

7/12 Day 21 We drove from Hill City SD to Casper WY today about a 6 hour trip. The terrain has changed to semi-arid soil with alternating flat prairies with deep arroyos (gullies created by the heavy downpours they get sporadically) and then more steep low hills. The vegetation is low prairie grass and lots of sagebrush. We were concerned about getting lost as we passed Lost Spring population 4 but made it OK (honest that is what the sign said). ...

We got a late start this morning after spending time outside the Evanston Library where we accessed the wifi and posted our blogs for the past few days, having had no cell service in the Ruby Mountains. Today we drove a little over 300 miles to Casper, Wyoming, a pretty town. For the last 100 miles, we skirted a menacing-looking storm and ...

Since we had a little extra time, we decided to stop off at a place in Hot Springs, SD called The Mammoth Site. The brochure said something about Mammoth ...
