We had a very unsettled spell over three days including a prolonged thunderstorm one night, but yesterday (Saturday) dawned sunny and brighter as forecasted so we picked upon a suggestion from a tourist office leaflet to go inland and explore highland villages. Like Scotland, many are now abandoned and in ruins, the scenery was stunning but still sustains the grazing of livestock, including horses. Beyond the village ...

We left Galicia on Sunday morning when it was grey and wet but as we headed towards the north coast the cloud lifted and the sun came out. This ...

    Gijon

With 1000km to drive in 2 days to get to Logrono to meet the girls, we had a fair bit of driving to do. We drove out of Portugal along the coast to the North-west corner of Spain before heading along the north coast and stopping for the night in the seaside town of Gijon. Not much to report, we went for a wander along the shore and checked out the city before grabbing a feed and hitting the pillow around ...
