We hear the alarm for 8am and get ready, shower and pack before meeting John and Jenny for breakfast at 9am. I look out the window and it's still pitch black, mornings are depressing in Spain. Lucky the sun doesn't go down until 7:30pm, so you don't lose too much of your day. We head down at 9am and see John and Jenny already tucking into some breakfast. We are finished within the hour, head up to our rooms to clean our teeth and grab our bags. We head off and check out by 10am. We ...

Our hotel Santa Rosa, ...

... Of course I get on with everyone (out here!) but there seem to be a few frictions in the camp (shades of get me out of here...) The problem seems to be some of the overly keen pilgrims, the ones who walk 1,000 km, cook at 5pm, bed by 8pm, up at 6:30 and first to the next albergue to bag the best bed. Clearly this, and being told to be quiet at 8pm as others were trying to sleep, was concerning to some. I see the problem - some of these people, with strange kit and ...

... curlers came down and gladly checked us in early.

The rest of the day was spent napping, eating and local sightseeing. Mom finally found the perfect shoes, the exact pair she wears at home, and it instantly made a difference. I hadn't mentioned it here in a while, but her feet were still hurting pretty bad. I bought some new sandals as mine had pretty much worn through to the ground, and we walked the boardwalk along ...
