    Day 5 - The End

... which was great. By the time I got back on the plane in Sydney (after accidentally using the male facilities and losing a $45 MAC lipstick I'd just bought at Dubai Airport), I pretty much went straight to sleep as soon as the seatbelt sign went off, and I woke up 40 minutes before landing in Christchurch.
I'm glad to be home, but this was most definitely the trip of a lifetime and one I'll never forget. Thank you to Emirates and the Dubai Tourism Commission. ...

At Guatemala we grabbed something to eat in the airport as we made our way to the airplane that would depart at 1:30 pm. We got in the plane, I was excited to see that it was my turn to sit right next to the window because on the previous plane Caren sat next to it. The Sun's out again! Yay! After a little lazy nap after breakfast on the beach (we need all the beauty sleep we can get!) we visit the amazing Mall of the Emirates with the "Frozen" themed ski slope. Frozen!!! :) Listening to all the little kids singalong to Let it go, took all my strength not to join in. Ha. After some beautiful coffee and cake at the cute Hummingbird Bakery we head back to the hotel to get ready for our last night in Dubai ...

    Tallest Building in the world

Average breakfast at the hotel. I don't think that turkey bacon really cuts it and it is a contradiction of terms. The chef is from Kuala Lumpur and makes a mean chilli omelette with the lot.

Then in a taxi to the burj Khalifa.

Its amazing. A tall tall needle of a building clad in chrome and glass. It was a bit of a trek trying to find the ...
