    Our hotel observed the mourning period by only playing subdued music in the restaurants and public areas.

    We still had to deal with the heat which continued to hover around 100-degrees with 100-percent humidity. We thought the desert was “a dry heat.”

    We started our morning by going to the Burj Khalifa and buying tickets to go up. Once you are up on the 125 floor observation deck it is breathtaking. As for me the coolest part was the elevator ride. The elevator is tall and the upper half of it are viewing screens. So as this very fast elevator is going up it is showing you what other tall man-made structures you are passing up, from pyramids to Shanghai tower. And it is a fast elevator. ...
