Ok, so weve been in Dubai since very early morning on Wednesday 18th December ( Ocean View, The Walk, Jumeirah) and what have we done?????IWell ............ after a chill and a lunchtime sleep we walked to the Metro station and went the The Mall at the Burj Kalifer. Wow, its some Mall! With Ice Rink, Cinema, literally hundreds of shops, a HUGE Aquarium big enough to have divers wandering around, an aquatic Zoo, inc Penguins, Lizards plus loads more, all ...
Chucked on a pair of shorts and at shirt for a casual afternoon with aunty Alison, popped down to Dubai Mall to have a look around. I was literally blinded the entire time due to the fluorescent lights reflecting off one of the billion or so watches they had planted about the place. The indoor ski slope looked like madness got me thinking that if you go from deep sea dives to a flight you get the bends so is there ...
... a large Bedouin tent style camp complete with cushions and rugs in the middle of the desert. Here we had a lovely BBQ dinner and were able to have photos with camels and an inquisitive owl. Carolyn got a henna tattoo. At the end of the evening the staff turned all the lights off for five minutes so we could see the stars. This was a very enjoyable afternoon and evening out.
Day 47 :
Today we hired a private car for the day so we could visit Abu Dhabi. ...
... visiting Dubai and that was it-nothing more. Because I had a nice wait, I was able to really people watch. And let me just tell you, people watching in Dubai is a whole different experience than doing it in the States. There were times I wished I could be wearing my sunglasses to help hide my expressions, but since I couldn't, I tried to maintain an bored look and just kept watching.
