the cover for the emergency door falling off and landing on me. So that
gave me a bit of a fright, also the woman sat behind me got scared too
as she started screaming because you could hear air through the door.
I'd like to point out that the cover fell of during the take off and at
this point we were on our ascent! I didn't want to take any chances so
I went to the other side of the plane (not that it would've helped!) as
the Air Stewardess came running down the ...

We finally got into the tunnels about 1 hour in and for tourists the entrances had been given steps and the tunnels lit. Despite this, the tunnels were still terrifying. Several people had to leave due to claustrophobia and even for someone who is not scared of confined spaces, it was still scary. The tunnel was no more than about 4 ...

Ho Chi Minh City, Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam chudu24... not the best conditions to sit on a boat for 3 hours.... then a bus for hours... we left the island about noon and got to Bangkok about 6am....
So from the original gang there was 6 of us who headed to Bangkok, we messed about for about 3 hours sorting rooms out and waiting to check-in and finally we all got sleep for a few hours. It's always more entertaining] as we had read everywhere that the public transport links to the places we wanted to visit were rubbish. After waiting for the rain to clear (Saturday afternoon had treated us to a torrential downpour - a brief barrage of rain that we would get used to as the rainy season in Vietnam gathered momentum), we sorted out our trip.
That evening, we had our first experience ...
Salut groupe!
Impressionnant.

... underground. Dropping down holes, hauling myself up through the next ones. Eugh. Not something I EVER want to repeat. I have no idea how anyone managed to live down there. The traps these guys came up with were crazy too - tiger traps with bamboo blades and revolving wheels with nails. Scary stuff!
Obviously Im managing to find time to explore the less cultural side of Saigon too ...
... and bus to Hanoi. We initially wanted to skip Hanoi, but found a more convenient way to cross over the land border into Laos (as a pose to a 24 hour bus ride to Vientiane) which necessitated a trip to Hanoi to catch a bus back down south. Actually, it turned out to be a great city. Pure chaos and madness, but very entertaining at the same time. There was a crossroad in the old city called the Bia Hoi junction where you can get 3000 Dong (25 ...
