... cover that can cut their pads), but the warm winds feel good. Donna and I spent an afternoon at the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge. Bison (Tahtonka!), long-long horned cattle roaming free, and unusual birds. The cattle around the park headquarters were especially friendly - they would come right up to the windows and look at you, and lick the glass to give you a big kiss!

Traveling is something I do every day. Each morning I pack my bag, fill up my tank for the long drive, and go exploring. It's an exciting life of adventure and wonder.

Today, I trekked 15-20 minutes west into Denton, where I went to a coffee shop and read/drew pictures for an hour or so.

We got up a little early to start our drive to Texas. We took a few final pictures and said our goodbyes. It was such a wonderful week of spending time together and seeing the sights. Popeye's Chicken and Pioneer diner both cloased at 9pm, so we had to do the 24 hour IHOP

Our waitress "Granny" had been a waitress for 50 years! Started when she was 13! Should have taken a picture, next time.

... to hang out with the random very friendly dog. Next it was on to the Acadia Round Barn. It was built in 1898 and was mostly a gift shop, but the man running it was very nice and the barn was pretty cool when we went upstairs to the loft. Right down the road from there was Pop's. That was probably the highlight of my day. This place had 500 different bottled sodas from all over the world. We picked out a pretty unique set of 6. My favorite was the Leninade, a tribute to communism. Forgot ...

We went to the winery where my mom tasted like 20 wines and I took a ton of pictures. Next we went to a Mexican restaurant where I had a chicken quesadilla with fries and it was really good. Then I went to this place where a guy made all the attractions from Route 66 on his property. There was the peace van that you see in cars, the blue whale, herbie the love bug, and more stuff. And there was this dog there that was so nice and he wanted to come home with me ...

... but no on there and we couldn't find anyone who took fees!!! Really lonely though--we counted only 3 campers in the whole park. So... we will save this one till we have someone travelling with us. Tom called at noon.
