... show all of the colors. Apparently, 20 million years ago, the area was swampy and the trees got saturated and then solidified. As the water was full of minerals, the petrified wood has lots of colors - like the bluish color from the copper and red from iron. To buy a chunk costs thousands of dollars. Would have loved a petrified tree door stop. At 6000ft and in Navajo country again. Lots of touristy tee pees on this route. Nice to see big rocks again. Had McDonalds lunch and I ...

Oklahoma roads have got to be the worst I've had to pull something on in my life....bad, bad, bad. Should I have to add to this? I also included a photo of Beamer, who is always begging for food. One would think he doesn’t get enough to eat, but he loves his snacks, which he gets often and plenty. Gotta love him, cause he loves everyone.

Oh, yes. And a thanks to La Quinta for the room with a full kitchen. Great upgrade ...

... was running cycling races. So many streets were blockaded or else one way streets, so we got lost and couldn't find our way back on track. Finally found a police car and it was a lovely lady cop on duty.she gave us directions and agreed to me taking her photo. We got back onto The Interstate highway and kept going. Back to Farmerville at 10pm - very ...

... we decided that route would not be for us. Fortunately, it just so happened that Stacy was going to be in Scotland, Texas, visiting her Dad while we were passing through. She offered us a place to stay with the Scamp and we were in! I was so excited to see her after four months away from Madison. We arrived in Scotland and quickly parked the Scamp and hurried inside as it was ...
