It was really beautiful walking through the forest. Hiking in winter is really special because everything is white, you hear the crunch of your footsteps on the snow and as the sunlight hits the leaves, they sometimes drop their snow coverings in showers of fine ice crystals. You definitely need good boots and gloves though!

We've been having so much of a good time enjoying being back in Germany that it is hard to find time to write any blogs. I'll at least post some photos of some of the fun we've been having!!

Kassel was the next stop on this trip. We checked into our hotel which is fantastic - a really nice cosy room and even has sweet little Christmas touches like a potted poinsettia and Christmas sweets on the pillows. After dumping our bags we headed back to the train station for an ...

The weather wasnt bad at all and it allowed for a very nice hike through the forest and plains. Having hiked Volcanoes in Nicaragua in the past, this for me wasnt challenging at all. It was a very nice 3-hour hike with very beautiful sceneries and landscapes.

... encountered. I had not experienced any cultural shock, i guess the thing that got me the most is that people seem a lot colder than what im used to back in the US. Germans have reassured me however that this is only a thing in Kassel, that most Germans are friendly and welcoming for the most part. Anyways, i wasnt worried because i knew i had yet to experience so much of it. Also important to mention ...

I was in Gottingen (Germany) in the last July to participate in the workshop IWSM. It was an incredible experience. This was my first time in Germany and I enjoyed a lot my trip.

My wife and I were in Gottingen one week and we stayed at InterCity Hotel that is located near to the train station. We recommend the hotel because the price is rigth, the breakfast ...
