    The adventure begins

    ... the 25th year of the German reunification (1989). They were expecting thousands of people in Frankfurt and we actually ( on Saturday night) watched the major event on the TV. Dinner was at a very small local eatery where we had pork and potatoes ( of course) and wine. We sat at long wooden table with style. A neighborhood German place full of locals and fun to experience. We returned "home" and settled down for the night.

    Travel has ended BUT the memories last forever!

    ... and our breakfast and evening meals~ but they were much much more. They met us along the way at least three times each day with a smile, encouragement, water, snacks and much needed tending to our aches and pains~ for me mainly my feet. Jose Lois taught me how to tend to my own blisters~ although he set up his "Dr" office each morning to be sure the blisters were all drained and protected each morning and evening.     ... YEEUCH! The rain was so bad at times I couldn't see a thing and found myself peering around my screen looking for the white line on the side of the road just to see where we were headed.     ... highlights of the day were socializing Jerry Wrinkle, son of my fourth grade teacher at Chilhowee Elementary School, who was serving as a tournament official, and Knox County Sheriff J.J. Jones, whose officers provided security for the event. Another interesting side story was talking to some attendees who had used Uber to taxi them there and ferry them home.     I thought I would start by answering the 5 BIG W's.

    I hope all my walking at Lakeshore and working out with John pay off. I will be leaving Monday and heading to Spain with my friend Linda. We will be spending about two weeks..... in the Northwest region of Spain......hiking 96+ miles.....from O'Cebreiro to Santiago..... and doing a little sight seeing along the way.
