... the 25th year of the German reunification (1989). They were expecting thousands of people in Frankfurt and we actually ( on Saturday night) watched the major event on the TV. Dinner was at a very small local eatery where we had pork and potatoes ( of course) and wine. We sat at long wooden table with benches..family style. A neighborhood German place full of locals and fun to experience. We returned "home" and settled down for the night.

They met us along the way at least three times each day with a smile, encouragement, water, snacks and much needed tending to our aches and pains~ for me mainly my feet. I hope all my walking at Lakeshore and working out with John pay off. I will be leaving Monday and heading to Spain with my friend Linda. We will be spending about two weeks..... in the Northwest region of Spain......hiking 96+ miles.....from O'Cebreiro to Santiago..... and doing a little sight seeing along the way.
