Villa Gesell is the smallest little beach town that we have been to yet! It has one main road that runs parallel to a beautiful beach and its full of small hotels, restaurants and summer homes. Again, since it's off season, many of the restaurants and hotels are shut now and only open for summer from December - March. But that means that we get these incredible long stretches of beach pretty much all to ourselves all day ...

We spent a few days at this coastal town, about 5 hours south of Buenos Aires, as a stopping off point to Puerto Madryn. The weather was lovely so we had a couple of very long walks on the beach, along with a few good seafood dinners. As we were off-season the town was quiet but there were enough people there for the weekend to make it feel lively enough. A really attractive place to chill out for a couple of days.

... time in there, it was left locked up all day, windows and all and it never really improved. Here, we´ve got a great big window that opens to the garden on the top floor with tons of ventilation. We love it. Of course things are more expensive than we expected... especially bus rides. I think our plan is to deal with it by taking overnight buses long distances and not have to pay for rooms those nights... not such a bad idea since ...

After the comfort of our first bus journey, our second journey was on a bus which was a little shabby although the journey was a lot shorter (only 7 hours). Rather than films our entertainment consisted of a crazed Argentinian family (or maybe church group?) that burst into song with guitar accompaniment. ... and slept all day and then at night partied until about 7 AM every day then went back to our house where we slept until we were dragged a la Playa (beach) to go sleep some more. The only problem was the intense amount of wind and it got WICKED cold at night, but only because of the wind otherwise it was very warm.
