... a quick off ramp U-turn and we were soon on Ruta 2 South. <br><br>The day is absolutely perfect for riding, with not a cloud in the sky and probably 25degrees C, there is a bit a cross wind but nothing too major. The road surface is great and we quickly settle into a quiet 60MPH, which seems a good Sunday speed. Only the occasional car flying past doing 120 or so. <br><br>Lunch time rolls around at 1pm and we stop for a break at one of the many very well maintained and ...
Villa Gesell, Central Argentina, Argentina stevekiwibelton... for the length of time this would take us (the map was very deceptive). Villa Gesell is not very wide (about 7 or 8 blocks) but its very very very long and clever us had decided to walk nearly the length of it in the blazing hot sunshine wearing 20kg each on our backs - who needs the gym eh? After walking for about 50 blocks (no joke, actual number), with a couple of detours here and there to find hostels, we were starting to feel like our backpacks weighed more like ...
Villa Gesell, Argentina benguigueVilla Gesell is the smallest little beach town that we have been to yet! It has one main road that runs parallel to a beautiful beach and its full of small hotels, restaurants and summer homes. Again, since it's off season, many of the restaurants and hotels are shut now and only open for summer from December - March. But that means that we get these incredible long stretches of beach pretty much all to ourselves all day ...
Villa Gesell, Central Argentina, Argentina thelepkisWe spent a few days at this coastal town, about 5 hours south of Buenos Aires, as a stopping off point to Puerto Madryn. The weather was lovely so we had a couple of very long walks on the beach, along with a few good seafood dinners. As we were off-season the town was quiet but there were enough people there for the weekend to make it feel lively enough. A really attractive place to chill out for a couple of days.
Pinamar, Central Argentina, Argentina dymphna9817... time in there, it was left locked up all day, windows and all and it never really improved. Here, we´ve got a great big window that opens to the garden on the top floor with tons of ventilation. We love it. Of course things are more expensive than we expected... especially bus rides. I think our plan is to deal with it by taking overnight buses long distances and not have to pay for rooms those nights... not such a bad idea since ...
Villa Gesell, Argentina kstuartAfter the comfort of our first bus journey, our second journey was on a bus which was a little shabby although the journey was a lot shorter (only 7 hours). Rather than films our entertainment consisted of a crazed Argentinian family (or maybe church group?) that burst into song with guitar accompaniment. Initially this was quite sweet, however after Queen´s ´Somebody to love' and Extreme´s 'More than words' were ...
Villa Gesell, Argentina jayandmandy... and slept all day and then at night partied until about 7 AM every day then went back to our house where we slept until we were dragged a la Playa (beach) to go sleep some more. The only problem was the intense amount of wind and it got WICKED cold at night, but only because of the wind otherwise it was very warm. After hanging out with my cousins for the first two nights I kinda driffted off and did my own thing and found people that I actually enjoyed hanging out with ...
Pinamar, Argentina ole.dolven... but very windy and not warm. Lewis and I swam in the sea, which is not far from our hostel but it was pretty cold and there was a strong current pulling us down the coast. After leaving the water it was a quick dash back to the hostel for hot showers. I think we hit Pinamar just before the season was about to begin. All the beach huts and bars were closed up, a lot of shops and buildings were being ...
