Kathakali is an ancient Indian performance art where the performers don unreal make up and costumes, there are also drummers and singers who assist in the performance. We went about an hour before the performance in order to see the make up being applied......this was fascinating to see as the performers are male so it was hilarious to see them putting on a full face of make up.
