We woke up this morning to find a blanket of snow over everything outside. So we had some breakfast and went outside in the snow, we even got to walk on the frozen river. ... it was to be there. To be in the Czech area knowing that my great-grandparents were born and lived in Bohemia made me wonder what their lives were like.

We learned a lot from Rick Steves as we readied for our trip--especially to pack lightly! Eighteen days is a lot of changes of clothes-but we now know ways that we could have been wiser. Lugging around three suitcases/carry-ons was not overly enjoyable.
