I needed a tetnus shot after my stay!

My wife and I just returned back from a week in Orlando. I got placed at Ramada because of a Time-share deal. I arrived early on Sunday and did a pre-ckeck in. THe counter person asked me if I wanted a Kids Club Room. I said "no" she said she would give me a King bed room instead.

We came back around 4PM and while I was struggling getting my 75lbs suitcase from the trunk the Bell Boy just sat there and watched. He just looked at us while we grabbed all our luggage. I got to my room, and surprize, it was a single full bed with a Kids Club room. Plus it smelt like mildew. I went to the front desk and was told I could switch in the morning, in which we did. We were given room # 508, a nice room, with a king bed. I woke up the next morning and sat on the side of the bed and a rusty old spring was sticking out through the mattress and punctured my leg. I stood up, and this thing sliced my leg about 4 inches. My wife comes out of the bathroom and sees blood pouring from my leg. I took plenty of pictures and said we are out of year. I showed the on duty manager the pictures and she said we could move to another room. I said No way. To sum it up, PAY THE FEW BUCKS TO STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE. WE DID, AND WE ENDED UP HAVING A GREAT VACATION. NEVER WILL I STAY HERE AGAIN. NOT EVEN FOR FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good hotel

Nice Clean resort. Very Very Friendly staff. Rooms were well maintained. We stayed for 5 days.

It's your basic hotel.

I was concerned about this place given the negativity below, but found it to be a perfectly acceptable middle-of-the-road hotel. I've stayed at far worse and stayed at significantly better. It's a solid, dry, semi-convenient clean room within striking distance of most major destinations.

Is it the Bellagio? Not even close (no ,matter what the telemarketer told you).

If you expect a Days Inn, Holiday Inn, Comfort Inn, you won't be terribly disappointed.

Caveat Emptor.

We stayed here on a last minute basis. We were looking for a room..

anywhere at 1 am in the morning.. and they had a room available. The lobby is really nice.. they have a nice work out room.. and a huge arcade area for the kids. The pool looked nice... and blue. I don't think I would consider this a resort... but it served it purpose. The rooms need some updating... new carpet . and new furniture.. but the bed slept great. I would stay here again.. but not if I was going just for a true vacation.

Better than expected

I must say I was nervous after reading all of the negative reviews on here. But I had already made the reservation and paid for the trip, so it was too late to change. Like the majority of the people staying here, I booked though a discounted agent and had to attend a timeshare presentation.

The room was nothing fancy, but there were also no problems with it. It was plenty clean and the bed was just fine. Some people must be pretty picky! Anyway, the pool was very nice. I don't know if I am just not an experienced traveler, but I have no complaints about the pool or the rooms.

I guess I would be dissapointed if I paid what the "normal" price for the rooms was listed as. I think it was around $125/night or something like that. I got it for about $40, so I was happy.

Again, if you got a deal by agreeing to attend a timeshare, suprise suprise - they will make you go! They will try and pressure you into buying! That is two things you should expect before you go. But as far as the hotel itself, no complaints.

Covers the basics

My boyfriend and I stayed here July 2003 through an indepedent package deal that included Universal tickets. Check-in went quickly and there were carts available for easy luggage transport, bell service is also available. The rooms, halls and elevators were clean and the maid service was good. The water pressure was very poor. Balcony was kind-of beat up and most were obstructed by trees. Any meals that were offered were way too expensive. But a little coffee maker in the room covered breakfast. The staff was okay, but came across unprofessional. The pool was fine, but quickly filled up. Great location. We didn't pay full price for the rooms (package discounts), but I probably would consider staying here again if the standard prices were fair.

My family recently stayed at this resort 4-l4-03 for 5 days and had a great vacation. The rooms were clean and comfortable....We found the buffet breakfast wonderful and I loved the coffee. We had trouble getting our first night's accommodation, but was sent to another hotel as we arrived after midnight, but once Paulie spoke with me I decided to return to the Ramada and had an enjoyable time. Yes, the hotel is located close to a prison, but don't forget they are locked up. Not an episode ocurred that made us uneasy. In comparison to Port Orleans-Riverside at Disney, I would rather have stayed for our full vacation at the Ramada. Sincerely Your friends in R.I. Thanks Paulie see you next year,

Don't ever stay here

Don't be fooled. This property is less than acceptable. Do some research online and you'll find out just like we did. We'll never stay at a Ramada again.

Don't be awed by the new remodeling in the lobby....

....that was the only 'nice' thing about this property! The service here was AWFUL!!!!!!!!!! We stayed here Labor Day weekend and it was not a good holiday for us. The service from the front desk to food service was terrible. I don't think we saw an employee smile the whole time. One night when we ordered food, it came cold and when asked if we could have it reheated in a microwave they said the facility didn't own one, then they backed down and said that the room that had it was locked and "no one had a key." The room was uncomfortable. There was a crack in one of the walls that had been replastered about 5 times and it was peeling away from the wall. Went to the pool and they didn't have any clean towels but were going to get us some-- we stayed in the pool for nearly an hour *at night* waiting for the towels, which never came. The beds were sagging and sheets were stained. Trust me on this folks, not a place you would want to venture to. Keep on looking, something else definitely will catch your eye!

What a joke!

Well - I was suckered into this "fabulous" vacation....afterall, Ramada has a reputable name, doesn't it. The initial sales pitch was high pressured which should have been my first clue. The rooms in this recently renovated Plaza 1000 in Orlando were far below average. The mattresses sagged, the sheets were thin, wrinkled and did not even cover the mattress, the bedspread was tattered and worn. There must have been a 100 coats of paint covering the door and window sills. The rental car was a joke and directions were inaccurate. They would not give you the voucher for the cruise until you took their timeshare pitch. The "Imperial Majesty" was old and run down - however the crew were very nice and the beaches were great....I am writing the attorney general of Florida... Don't waste your money.
