... pens. Ah, well. My feet were so sore but I figured if I was going to walk back to the hotel, I’d get an ice cream to enjoy along the way. So back down and along the harbour to the Cows ice cream shop. The line-up was awful but I was there and decided to wait it out. I got two scoops: orange/pineapple and green tea. The green tea ice cream was pretty good.

... are several stories, one of which is clearly the winner in my books. As it lies on St Margaret's Bay, and Peggy is the nickname for Margaret (who knew?!), that's one theory. The other is that many years ago there was a terrible shipwreck just off the coast, and the only survivor was a young woman called Peggy. She was rescued by the community, and while recovering there, fell in love with one of the local boys, and stayed. Much more romantic!
