... with $8. Then lost $5 more on the slot machines. Debbie doubled her $5 bet on the roulette machine (she didn't end up playing blackjack). Mark lost his $5 on the slots. We started with $5 on the slots, it all looked to be going badly, then I hit the button in frustration I think and we went back up to $6.75 and cashed out quick! I also 'found' $1.36 - credit that had been left in machines that I printed ...

... are dependent on the hydroelectric power, so simply couldn't have the flow of water stopped. Anyway, it's now 4 May and we are on our very comfortable Amtrak train to New York from Niagra. ( for Terri and Andy... It's identical to the train we used to go to Washington in 2011).The train station at Niagra is not a well known feature of the town, as many we asked didn't even know they had one. ... created by the rushing, swirling river and then we were back over the border into New York. Then came a real highlight for Susan and Richard - they donned more plastic ponchos and set off to the base of the American Falls to do the 'Cave of the Winds' walk. They reckoned it was better than the boat ride, because they got "up close and personal" with the falls ... they walked right to the base of the falls and then climbed part way up the falls via steps. Water rushed by them ...

... with this as we doubted their capabilities and after locking them down, they couldn't have done a thing.

Anyway, when we went in to pay for the parking, they charged us per bike which was double what a car was for the one space. Needless to say, a heated debate broke out and apart from a small discount with the hotel stamp; the hotel staff trying to help and a local to help us argue the point, we had to pay up to get them out.
