... drove my next few days of hiking. The first day with my boots, I hiked pretty much a full day, but I did a few less miles since I started so late, getting out of town around 1 p.m. I could feel the blisters forming, and my feet were a little sore, but I just taped my heels and did a full day the next day, too, since there was a couple who let hikers stay in their garage and would drive them into town 20 miles away at a road crossing. ... 1 was the Backyard Ale House. Nope, we didn't want to have lunch in what looked for all accounts like a dive bar. Option #2 was a place called Carl Van Luger's. My boat crew was made up of a Vietnam era Marine (yellow PFD), two Army Reserve CGOs (two in the middle) and a Airman (back left behind bucket) who worked in Iraq as a Combat Controller before leaving the service. His wife (far left front) was also with us.

... so much beauty, so much history and just so much to see and do. Gettysburg and Lancaster are places everyone should visit. It is so well worth it, I promise!

... the kids who helped last year initiate a game of duct tape racing, just like the game I introduced them to a year ago! They remembered me, they remembered having a good time with it last year, and they wanted to play again! I regret this year not jumping right in and joining them.
