... This is hard to believe but there you have it.
We hiked a mile down to the natural bridge (pic included), but doesn't do it justice. This was in the Ozark Mountains that are, to say the least, unbelievable. We then headed generally westbound down the highways of Mississippi, Tennessee, and Arkansas to this place in North Little Rock. We passed through some rundown areas of Memphis without pausing. Given the ridiculous road construction delays later on Interstate 40, it was good that we did not dawdle along the way.

... plied the river, there was a tavern that sat on the ground where the park is now, and that women traveling up the river would observe the male patrons of the tavern sitting out front sipping spirits from jugs, and claim that the drunks at the tavern drank until they swelled up like toads. Sounds plausible to me.
The park is actually very spacious, with many large trees shading the lawns. We would like to come back sometime.
