... disoriented as we walked to the Paul Laurence Dunbar house (a poet and high school friend of the Wrights), stumbled into a massive car show at the Carillon Historical Park, and drove all the way across town to see the Huffman Prairie Flying Field. Pretty quiet night! The tree frogs went until about 3am and then quieted down. The hiway sound is kind of like white noise...constant and fairly consistent. There is no construction and no reason for using Jake Brakes, so just the constant hum of engines and wheels on pavement. Spoke too soon! Ron said he heard a number of trains last night and many used their horns. I heard nothing till about 7 this morning. We have also noticed that even though the interstate is a little less than a mile from here, we can hear it loud and clear this morning.
