    Nice hotel, clean, was there several days ago so I don't remember much more than that.

    Amity is at grandma's house today and as soon as the packing is done I'm on my way to celebrate the July 4th holiday with her in Longview before we board that plane Saturday morning! A few errands remain and then hopefully I can close up those suitcases so we will be all ready to go. And yes we remembered to pack our Chenzhou t-shirts (see photo below)!!! ...

    Here we are cruising over 35,000 ft above the ground, halfway to our destination. Wheeeeee! We're on our way to Greece! I have discovered that unlike the domestic flights, international flights have much more to offer. Including individual video systems, half decent airline food, blankets, and Baileys with your coffee! Though a long flight, it has this far been manageable ...

    ... how advanced the technology is now to ensure that future eruptions can be predicted more accurately. Apparently the volcano is currently releasing steam and gases and this will eventually lead to the gaping hole in the side of the mountain being rebuilt. This will take thousands of years though. At the end of the doco the curtains were lifted to reveal the actual Mt itself. It was awesome. Made you gasp at the size of it.
