... of the bunker was revealed on 31st May 1991 when the Washington Post published a story effectively exposing it. The day after the story was published the facility began being phased out.

Tours are now conducted of the bunker. Cameras and phones are not allowed to be taken into the bunker. At the end of the tour you are given some postcards.

Well done to Stuart and Sylvia for surviving a epic ride (227 miles) through the best and worst that the eastern states of the USA could throw at us. So much for the easy first day they asked for! Oops. But hopefully the jet lag will have eased tomorrow, and on the bright side Stuart’s new boots are, in fact, waterproof.
