... part of Germany. I will live about twenty minutes from the Cologne train station, so, after traveling that short distance, I will be able to travel to basically anywhere in Germany (assuming I have a valid train ticket). This is a good little spot to be. I'm also right on the border of the Netherlands and very close to Belgium, England, and France, and I plan on visiting all of those countries.

Also, living in the Rheinland ...

Vintage cars in Spencer, Indiana

Hi everyone, Normally I post from exotic locations around the world but today I'm in the U.S.A. I got to play with some old cars in Spencer, Indiana. Spencer is about 45 minutes south-west of Indianapolis. Take a look at those cars! The first car is a 1931 Ford Model A Four Door. The next two shots are of a 1930 Ford Model A Rumble Seat Roadster The last two are of a 1950 Plymouth Special Deluxe Sedan

Going home: Santiago to Bedford

We flew overnight from Santiago to Miami, arriving at 5:00AM. After getting through customs, we had several hours to wait for our 11:30AM flight to Indy. Everything went smoothly and Bill had picked us up by 3:00. We're tired and slap happy, but thoroughly delighted with this trip. It's great to travel but always wonderful to come home. Thanks for reading our blog.

... for the inauguration. I almost missed the inauguration because we got drunk the night before and I nearly slept through it. It would've been poetic justice because in our inebriated state we decided to go ghost hunting and broke into an old house that had been boarded up. The next day was a total surprise. Burke had mentioned the night before something about big cats, and I had completely forgotten about it until she ...

Stone City

Limestone quarries outside town yielded stone for the Washington Monument and the Pentagon. The graveyard across the street also would be worth a visit, I was told by the manager at the motel. The farms and industry along the road reminded me of my own home town environs.

First entry

Well here we go. I am leaving for New Zealand in less than a week, and by looking around my room, I certainly have a lot left to do! I have always been a procrastinator and I am trying to break this mold by being totally prepared for international travel in less than a week! Wish me luck!

... glasses whilst in Cookeville so I drove back to Bloomington for us. It's normally a pleasant drive, but it was at night this time so the scenery... well, wasn't as prevalent (and John was wearing his prescription sunglasses so it was non-existent to him). But the drive went well, and we got in early morning about 3:30 or so. The Greyhound bus crowd is an interesting one. Although my ride was ...

Let the baby hit the floor

... Some gypsies may even start attempting this with a real baby - They'd sooner have the cash... The real baby may be one they've actually kidnapped from another tourist, something else they're adept at. I told Jacqui we need to practice throwing babies at her. Update- comment from Trip advisor The pickpockets may be more of a threat on the buses and metro trains. The 64 bus ...

Out of New England to OH and IN

... it was really getting cold. Finally, everything was done and we got back on the road heading south! We stopped at Mammoth Caves in Kentucky. We stayed at the Diamond Caves RV park and met Jan and John Burgoin from Ontario, Canada. They told us that they had been spending their winters in Brownsville, TX and that we should check it out. We also figured that it was about as far south as we could get, so we told them we'd look them up when we got there.

The road to Indiana

Bloomington is an incredible town, i LOVE IU's campus. It's beautiful out here. The drive here was nice as well, when it wasn't raining. I had turkish food for the first time ever tonight, it was great. I love how bloomington has a small town feel but has all the culture of a big town, and the campus is amazing. I'm going to get some pictures of the town tomorrow, but for right now all i have is pictures of the ride down here. I tried to stop in St. Louis and go see the arch, but ...
