... find that the place I had planned on camping was full. I didn't let the "No camping we're FULL" sign detour me :):) I drove on past and I think I found the very last spot available. I set up camp and not 5 minutes after I got in my tent it started to downpour. Perfect timing...I also got some entertainment with the thunder and lightning that proceeded throughout the night. Explored Moab for the next day and a half, went to Arches National Park, met a new friend, ...

... Not to mention that Caroline wasn't too excited about using a tiny shower or emptying a portable septic tank. So instead, we opted to drive a regular sized car, and stay at hotels, campgrounds, and rent a few homes along the way using HomeAway.com. We were going to drive all the way to California from Austin, and then realized how many miles of "nothingness" there was between here and El Paso.

Not one nano-second passed before he emphatically answered, "ME. Just think of it this way, you have to get this once a year. I have to do it FIVE TIMES A DAY. And the whole time I'm praying against latex breakage." He started demonstrating by extending his index finger, moving it slowly forward and saying with his eyes closed, "Oh please... oh please... oh please... don't break."
... was a six foot blackboard that stated“Estimated Waiting Time is…” This place is set-up for handling big crowds. Of course the barbeque brisket, ribs, turkey and sausage was delightful and the patrons are allowed into the BBQ pit area for photos. Sue was prepared for the limited vegetarian options: Potato Salad and Creamy Coleslaw served by the quart – yum!!
