Year 2, Day 127 - Today we drove the backroads from Tifton where our campground was and we sort of stumbled across the "capture site" of Jefferson Davis (and his party as they fled Richmond). This museum (built in 1939) is run by the county and is a bit remote, but it has a great amount of memorabilia to be viewed and it was quite nice. ... a motel and café, where we holed up for the next three days. The kids loved it; swimming and TV. Everyone was very friendly there and really helped us. So we were excited to come back and see Tifton. We stayed at the KOA in Tifton. They have a lot more gnats now than I remember. Also, the town has grown into a megalopolis. Ah, the wheels of progress.

... more excited, me or Mike! He can't wait to show me around, this is one of his favorite places. We will spend a night there exploring Pier 39 and I really want to go to Golden Gate Bridge Park and the Arts Center. Sunday morning it's off to Sacramento where Mike's dad and stepmom live.
