Well! We have had a fantastic day today.
We arrived in San Diego late yesterday afternoon and checked in to a motel just a few minutes away from Sea World. Instead of just lazing around our room we decided to head to Mission Valley Mall and check out the cinemas. After Damo's recommendation, we opted to see the new James Cameron film, …
... a sleep this afternoon - Jackie too - we went and met the Tour Director for our Cosmos Tour which starts tomorrow about 8am. He was nice I believe we have about 41 on the tour made up of 50% Uk and Aussie travelers plus us two NZers. There are only 6 of us from this group continuing onto the the Alaskan Passage.
Then we went next door to Du-pars Restaurant and Pastry for tea. We weren't hungry so we just had Peach Pie ...
... to some roller coaster action. The Manta is the fastest roller coaster in the park. It was pretty quick. Next up was Shamu Pavilion, home to the killer whales. They put on an exciting show. ... to full throttle. We did however spend a lot of the time on Jetski watch, with them being unable to tell clockwise from counter clockwise! But it was really amazing, and after being the glamorous model on the front of the boat, Sian pulled the boat into the marina and parked up with an inch perfect parallel park, one which the chap before us took 3 attempts to complete. ... to corner known as Fiesta De Reyes, with its tradition Mexican singers and dancers. The area featured many little shoppes with a Mexican flair. The area was abundant with blooming cacti. The effect was charming, so we stopped for a late lunch at Casa De Reyes. There we shared a drink and a sampler of their specialties. The food was delicious.
