... 3 PM so we only had a couple hours to run through the contemporary building. The museum also had a temporary exhibit of dinosaurs. That was a little odd but fun to see. Anyway, the library is modeled after the famous Dublin library's long halls except these halls are bathed in light from the glass walls of the building. We particularly enjoyed seeing the full-sized replica of the Oval Office set up exactly as it had been during ...

... Reached my boarding gate at 4.45pm. Didn't even stop to use the toilet, so am holding on till I get to Washington DC. There were thunderstorms around Houston so we had to skirt around these, then also more storms as we flew over Atlanta Georgia. It's 7.15pm now and starting to get dark outside. We fly through a time zone so will land at 8pm Louisiana time, but will be 9pm Washington ...

Then because Marie didn't want to drive through Dallas, we didn't use the Interstate freeway, but used smaller roads, making it a 9 1/2 hour trip Was an interesting trip with plenty of time for Marie and I to talk and get to know about each other's lives. No air conditioning in the car, so had to ...

In just under an hour we were welcomed into Louisiana, "Beinvenue." Arkansas was now “Arkanseen” and nothing excited me more than what awaited us at our next stop. This was my initial venture to Louisiana and was thrilled to experience what this state offered in terms of scenery and history. Coming into one of the first towns my map advised me to take a right onto a very sketchy side road on the other side of some broken ...

Today was our last full day in Monroe. The staff here at the Hampton Inn has fallen in love with Kallen. We've had the chance to talk to another WISH family. Their son had a heart transplant a year ago. He was in rejection 3 weeks ago but is now stable and was able to make the trip. You'd never know!

We enjoyed breakfast here and then went to the Kiroli Park! Kallen ...
