    ... be hitting North Carolina in a couple days and the Great Smokey Mountains National Park shortly after, so we have bigger mountains in our future, and probably colder temperatures. I'm about ready for summer already, but it'll be at least a couple weeks before it starts warming up.

    ... kept me cool and keeping moving kept me warm. I did a short day of only about 6 miles, since that was when I hit the next shelter. I was one of the first people there, so I snagged a spot inside and changed into some dry clothes. The rest of the day was spent under my down quilt watching the shelter fill up, which it did very quickly.     ... called Mountain Crossing that sells pizza and coffee so I quickly changed my mind.
