... Not sure how I'm going to fill the rest of my time. I guess I'll find something to do.<br><br>Fly out of the Azores on Thursday night (9/17), have an overnight in Lisbon, and get home Friday night.<br><br>I hope to post some updates and pics every night. Should be posted no later than 7 pm EST every night unless I'm out to the wee hours of the am.
Louisville, Kentucky, United States amylintA short walk from the hotel lead us to the Louisville Convention Center and my first Kentucky Starbucks. I made it a mocha since it doubled as my breakfast. I asked the barista if they carried city mugs and he replied with a slight southern tang, "Nope. Small market."<br><br>Right.<br><br>
Louisville, Kentucky, United States lauren.warnecke... Caddy.<br><br>We then ventured over to the "hip side of town" and visited Lynn's Paradise Cafe. A busy destination spot, to be sure, but Lynn's was well worth the wait. It's tacky and eclectic and the wait staff are Kentucky's finest punk hippy kids--in short: awesome with veggie options. I had the vegetarian biscuits and gravy and my first ever plate of fried green tomatoes.<br>
Louisville, Kentucky, United States lauren.warnecke... creating my own agenda and itinerary is also making this trip have a more personal feel to it. Wow--3 weeks of travel and then a week off when i get back--that's not working for a whole month!! I think the last time that happened was the summer after graduating from high school back in 1998...seriously...I've worked a lot in the last 10 years...this is a much deserved break...48 hours from now we'll begin our journey!
Louisville, Kentucky, United States whoisjohngalt... astounding minutes that people wait days, months, and even a whole year to see. It is kind of a big deal here in Kentucky. And all of this explosive magic takes place on the 2nd street bridge that links Louisville to Clarksville, IN. <br><br>The day of thunder isn't all just a bunch of sitting and waiting for the 'works to start. If you are on the Kentucky side, you can go to a bunch of booths to get free shwag. There are TONS of food stalls set up with all kinds of cookin'. There is a ...
Louisville, Kentucky, United States breezyfresh... snakey kind of river. We could catch glimpses of houses built on the sides of the mountains surrounding Charleston and some of them looked very plantation like with the big pillars in front. Those house must have a spectacular view!<br><br>At Charleston we decided to change our route and headed through Kentucky rather than Ohio. I love driving through Kentucky. It is such a beautiful state and our other choice was Ohio which tends to be so much ...
Clarksville, Indiana, United States gabbeecOh the wonders of nature and nature-stream restoration projects I volunteer on. Bernheim offers an abundance of programs for schools and families that educate and allow you to help conserve some nature! <br><br>Also, this park has many, many hiking trails. Yay hiking! We all know how much I love that. :)<br>
Clermont, Kentucky, United States breezyfresh... a week. But if you go after 8PM be prepared to wait at least 10 minutes to get a table. It's totally worth it between the food, hookah, and atmosphere. <br><br>Wicks Pizza: Louisville's best pizza place. L-ville has a lot of pizzaria's. But wicks is the best. Nice big portions, with amazing ingredients. Plus, reasonably priced! I highly suggest it.<br>
Louisville, Kentucky, United States breezyfresh... at 'Barbara Lee's' diner, where the cook- the waitress's daughter had to make sure Ray knew that 'rare' meant 'bloody' in her thick southern drawl. We checked out Kentucky's Bourbon Trail, and had some whiskey tastings and checked out the Louisville Sluggers baseball museum and bat factory and took home some miny bat suvenirs. I got a sweet necklace for $1.50 and a purse for $3.00 at a thrift store there. Would definitely reccomend checking out the town.
Louisville, Kentucky, United States reneedar... couple to go with us meant we had the stoner and his bad girl, me the nerd, and J the former good girl yearning to get in touch with her spooky darkwave side, at least a little. Yeah, playing by the rules of the slasher movie game, I was going down. The horny punk looking to get laid? Foget it. The laws of the horror film are crystal clear on this account. I was a goner. The stoner and the bad girl were goners as well. J at least had a fighting chance, though I must confess that didn't ...
