Right after we passed mile marker 90 on I-65, heading south (to mile marker 0), traffice came to a dead stop. For the next hour, we crept bumper to bumper, for about 60 miles. At MM34, we got on a state hwy. to get gas, and got back on just before Louisville, and missed the roadblock by a few thousand feet. So that meant the backup was approximately 80 miles.

It was great fun touring this history rich area; learning the origins of the distilleries’ founding families, how Prohibition affected them (1920-1933) and current day stuff.
Woodford Reserve is a huge sponsor of the Kentucky Derby held first weekend in May. Some day we would like to go to the Derby, alas not this trip as we need to be on the road to Gettysburg, PA.
