Not really sure what to expect, we actually found it very tranquil and peaceful. The whole area has been landscaped and planted with trees where you can sit under. There were an awful lot of police around which was not very reassuring but aside from that it was actually a really nice place to be. We both had iPhones and Samsung tablets. The phones were used mainly for GPS directions, texting and there for emergencies. We used our tablets the most as Wi-Fi was available in all our lodgings and many cafes. We only booked lodging with Wi-Fi, although with varying speeds. Sometimes there were data limits per day (100-200 MB ). We did all our research and booking of lodging, general web surfing and emails with our tablets. We had a digital camera with a memory ...
... pleasant to walk. We head back towards Time Square to the hotel and relax before starting to pack. Bags are at overflow and are still subject to 50 lb limits. So have to do a lot of juggling about. Its our last night in New York tonight.
So enjoy a last walk down through Time Square which has lost its novelty now although you can pick out the new ads on the LCD screens easily. Being America the next one is bigger and brighter than the last.

We spent the afternoon traipsing around NY looking at hostels and hotels which are being considered for our next choir tour to NY, planned for December this year. It was interesting and very helpful to see the places rather than just go by photos.
