Not really sure what to expect, we actually found it very tranquil and peaceful. The whole area has been landscaped and planted with trees where you can sit under. There were an awful lot of police around which was not very reassuring but aside from that it was actually a really nice place to be. We both had iPhones and Samsung tablets. The phones were used mainly for GPS directions, texting and there for emergencies. We used our tablets the most as Wi-Fi was available in all our lodgings and many cafes. We only booked lodging with Wi-Fi, although with varying speeds. We spent the afternoon traipsing around NY looking at hostels and hotels which are being considered for our next choir tour to NY, planned for December this year. It was interesting and very helpful to see the places rather than just go by photos. I was impressed by the courtesy of every one of the people who kindly spent time, talked to us and showed us a variety of rooms. We did make it back ...

... at Chobani in Soho, (It's the company Liz is working for, just beginning to establish itself in Australia), and watched in amazement (from our comfortably cozy apartment) as a young dad played first gridiron, then soccer for well over an hour in pouring rain and fierce cold with 3 enthusiastic little kids aged 3, 5 and perhaps 8. George ventured out bravely (?? or for a cigar...) to get ingredients for a warming dinner at home! On Sunday morning we again attended Mass at ...
