... doing 75-80 we hit a patch of rain for about ½ an hour. As we enter Sioux Falls we see a lot of small buildings with casino signs there is one right out in front of our motel. It appears to just be slot machines how they are run and by whom I am yet to find out.

We are fairly tired after an 800 kilometer drive and crash into bed watching a program about the world trade centers demise as today ids the anniversary of that horrific event
Sioux Falls, South Dakota, United States cadelec... top of the falls, beside the falls and below the falls. (They are pretty tame). Charlie, who you cannot lure into a swimming pool, was fascinated with the water and almost jumped off one of the ledges. He pulled me down to the water’s edge below the falls and would have gone into the river if I hadn’t a good hold on him. So he just waded a big. Who knew!! Hhe gathered many pettings, sniffed lots of doggies and fell in love with a 2 month old "Teddy-Bear" dog ...
Sioux Falls, South Dakota, United States journal70... drive through mostly flat land with no violet mountains, rolling hills or bluffs to change the view. I was left with one large question. Why are large round bales of hay scattered along both sides of the highway? There were lots of agriculture fields and numerous hay fields with mostly round bales either scattered or stacked in long rows. I'll have to google that!!

Charlie and I were glad to stop in Sioux Falls by about 4:00 pm.
Sioux Falls, South Dakota, United States journal70A stop over in this small town after a long day.

We called into Cracker Barrel for a meal before heading for the Holiday Inn. This was the first time visiting Cracker Barrel despite our number of trips to the US in the past. Shame really as the meal was good. It's an early start tomorrow.

Chicago tomorrow
Sioux Falls, South Dakota, United States andrewkinsey... scooped out as many leaves as she could. The rest we just ignored. The much needed swim however was short lived as the sky started becoming dark and it started to rain. After having showers and making dinner Morgan and I decided that we should go do laundry, while the other kids stayed and watched a movie. Angus came along shortly to help Morgan and i with the laundry, little ...
Sioux Falls, South Dakota, United States pringlefarmWe started the day at Mount Rushmore. None of us had ever been there before. We used the audio tours again, and learned a great deal about the carvings, the presidents, the Black Hills and the Lakota people. It really is a special place, and we enjoyed the sculptures and hiking around through the park.

After Mt. Rushmore, we traveled through the Wind Cave National Park on our way to Hot Springs. We saw herds of buffalo and elk, and stopped for a close up look at both. It ...

Sioux Falls, South Dakota, United States traceourtracks... radiator seemed to be fine and my engine temp was OK, so we set up an inspection in Sioux Falls, which was still about an hour's drive away. The friendly gentleman at Marv's Body Shop confirmed that there was no other damage, but that the repairs would take the better part of a week and cost about $700. Since the windshield damage was not all the way through (the inner plastic layer is still intact and will stop wind and rain) and I don't actually need the ...
Sioux Falls, South Dakota, United States pbdaniel... which Brooks had a good time at. We also saw a dolphin movie in a domed theater...I think the first for the entire family. Brooks kept saying the theater was moving, which it certainly felt like. The only down side was that it limited the already limited time we had before the museum closed. Out in the lobby of the museum they had the computer that drew pictures in the sand with a steel marble...it was amazing to ...
Sioux Falls, South Dakota, United States feldjoe... in the morning to help me get to the next stop. Very nice of them! I got to Dallas in the afternoon on the 3rd day, and my SIL informed me that I had a phone call from Colorado from another SIL. My CO SIL needed me to drive up to Colorado Springs so I could take care of my niece while her mom was in the hospital for a month due to a surgery. Soooo... I slept ONE NIGHT in a real bed, left Buddy II with my SIL, and took off ...
