... Put up the tree. Watch movies. It's going to be a good month back. Looking forward to it.
The past week I've been in Panama visiting the family that hosted me two summers ago. They changed my life. It was amazing seeing them again. Definitely the highlight of my past few months, out of everything I've done. Nothing can top the relationship I have with them. I got to go to a "Panamanian Fair ...
... Jill, and her family. Most of these days included lots of food and good times at Jill's house, and several Scrabble games each visit with Mom (and yes, she still beats me most of the time!)
I've heard that photo uploading has been improved and is quicker now here at TravelPod, which means I may be better at keeping you all updated as we move on. One of the things I have been ...
Cedar Point Amusement Park is located on the beautiful shores of Lake Erie in Sandusky, Ohio. It is the land of fun and thrills with over 75 rides and attractions. Cedar Point offers the best in roller coaster thrills.
There's lots for kids also. In fact, a section of the park called "four kids' areas" offers 30 rides and attractions for "just their size". These shots were taken especially for our nieces and nephews.
On September 10, 1813, Commodore Oliver Hazaard Perry defeated and captured a British squandron of warships at the Battle of Lake Erie. The battle, fought during the War of 1812, secured control of Lake Erie for the United States and enabled General William Harrison to conduct a successful invasion of Western Upper Canada.
The memorial commemorates Perry's defeat but more importantly it celebrates the lasting peace between the United States and Canada.
Sunday, August 2nd, 2009: Chilled out in the morning and then headed to the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland. Ohio - about 1 hour from our campsite. We were a little nervous heading it as Jett would be staying alone in the camper for the day - just to let you know he did great! It was very cool seeing the first view of Cleveland - lots of large buildings - very large city. Arrived at the Rock n Roll Hall of fame ...
Sandusky, Ohio, United States dornan... since breakfast, we were starving however neither of us were up to going to a restaurant. Instead, we settled on tailgating behind a Home Depot with a take- out pizza and a glass of wine. Pretty Delicious!
Cons: Fuel mileage was a dismal 10 MPG with a consistent head wind.
Overall: Great travel day.
Just wanted to upload some more pictures of our life and times around Cedarlane RV Park. We're both working LOTS of hours (~40/week apiece), which is more than we had expected...but it will certainly help the finances, which is why we're doing what we're doing!
... that the tourist season hasn't yet begun, we weren't able to take an official tour (not sure that climbing that many steps would be a good thing, anyhow!), but we enjoyed the outside of the lighthouse and the pretty park surrounding it. Of course - I took lots of pictures
... maybe not quite as quaint, but pretty, nonetheless.
Port Clinton is the WALLEYE CAPITAL OF THE WORLD...so Wally the Walleye travels around town on a cart. Wally is also known as the local competition for the New Year's Eve Ball Drop in Times Square - he gets dropped from a crane on the countdown to midnight every year. Fishing on Lake Erie is a huge pastime here...Walleye and Lake (Yellow) Perch are the most frequently caught and kept, while ...
... was a jeep painted up in orange, red, and purple tiger stripes, provided the kinds of tigers you've seen have had orange, ref, and purple stripes. There was also a giant fiberglass mountain, complete with waterfall and a couple bright green dinosaurs hanging out in front of it. Inside was much the same as Dinosaur Land, with the same assortment of plastic dinosaurs in outlandish colors and, curiously enough, the same plastic ninja swords in the same sort of ...
