Ramada Inn Olive Tree
Travel Blogs from San Luis Obispo
I know the blogs are a bit random and you have just had one from our arrival at San Fran, but in reality we have now left and are about 300 miles south. So, we are going to try and fill you in on what we did in San Francisco...
After we arrived at 4am(!), we unpacked the car, and went straight to bed. The next morning, we knew …
... looks small from the road, but surprisingly big once you get in the store. They have a lot of specialty items and very nicely priced produce. OMG they have some really good looking home made pies, yum! They also have an espresso and homemade ice cream bar. Outside they have quite a few farm animals. Horses, donkeys, chickens, goats, llamas, emus, plus a few other animals. We will come back . We continue on to the beach. We noticed there are RV sites along part ...
... uni for 6 months and Dan met her at one of the Undie 500’s. Having been a good few years they had an awesome catch up and it was so lovely to meet her and her partner Garrett, who had us in MTB kit within minutes and on bikes ready to hit their trails. We went via the Cambria Bike shop where we were very kindly lent some great bikes before joining Chenin’s crew for a ride, after a bit of debate about which tracks to do because of how ...
... think of the movie “Happy Feet” lying belly to belly. They come once a year to this beach to lay around and shed their skin before moving on to mate. Their round trip journey to the arctic circle exceeds 15,000 miles! They were really entertaining to watch. The young males were in the water wrestling and getting accustomed to fighting. The “mature” males were all lying on the beach and sleeping. Anytime one of ...
... hotel. The dark clouds have followed us though. The town's website says that this is " the happiest place in America". I'm not sure about that. Perhaps because it's spring break there doesn't seem to be many people here at all and no one seems especially happy. Maybe the weather is making it seem more sad and miserable too. Dinner at the Big Sky Café was nice, we both decided to be healthy and have salads (and a side of ...

Historical Traveler Reviews Ramada Inn Olive Tree San Luis Obispo
Loved the Ramada Olive Tree
We had great time at Ramada Inn Olive Tree, the staff was excellent made our vacation so enjoyable. The room was clean and comfortable and we definatly go back whenever we are in that area again.
The manager is a THIEF!!!
The rates are competitive at this motel, but the manager is very dishonest. We called a week earlier to have a discount magazine left at the front desk of this place. Our contact said she would leave the coupons with the manager at the front desk. When we arrived, he said that no one had dropped anything off with him or left anything for us.
He was lying. We called our travel contact, and she said she had just dropped it off yesterday. The manager stole our discount coupon books for himself!!! Unbelievable!
Then, the maid forgot to leave us some soap. We asked the manager for two bars of soap, one for the bath, and one for the sink. The cheap bastard informed us that we could only have one. Beware of the management. They will steal and lie to you!
For the $$ this was an excellent experience. The one and two bed room suites were roomy 7 comfortable. Professional staff & Service
Clean and reasonable place to be
we stayed in December holidays on the way from San Francisco. We checked in late and front desk was so helpful in settling to the room. we had great breakfast and very helpful in giving direction.
We would definetly recomand it and we will go back
their again and again
The Management was The worse My family has ever delt with in my live, the manager did not speek english and was RUDE!, I think the owner of this ramada need's to make a change. NOW.The rooms where very nice but not cleaned very well, also the food next door was not up to par. other then that the rest of our stay was nice. BAD MANAGEMENT.
Customer service should be # one. I wish we had found this site before we booked, NOW WE WILL check out trip advisor everytime we book, and so should you.
Loved the staff
We stayed in November 27& 28, 2002 We had wonderful time in San Luis Obispo, We had family reunion and Ramda Inn Olive Tree staff took care of all our request. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We would go their again and again...
I booked a 2 day online reservation and didn't have any problems with the check-in. Later on that night, unfortunately, my luck turned ugly.
Another industry down the drain. Now owned, I believe, as franchises, this one is particularly bad. I made reservations online for $139 for a suite, $89 for another room. When I called to change it to 2 nights instead of 3, they had mistakenly had us down for 4 nights. I said I had AAA, would they give me the discount, they said yes.
Don't be fooled
Just returning from the Olive Tree Inn, I feel compeled to tell you that it was nothing like what I thought it would be. I found a web sight showing pictures of it which were inaccurate. The managers where helpless at best. The maids yelled at me for smoking in the room - YELLED. The room was dirty. The food at the attached reastuarant was terrible (although the staff there was atleast friendly). The heated pool? Forget it - not heated, slightly green, smaller then the room you're sitting in right now.
Terrible, etc, etc, etc.
