    ... Happy and tears spilled...but Fred is not convinced.. Left hotel about close to noon...Bruno the driver again.. When at checkin counter at the airport...Fred and wife were not allowed to pass thru.. They have to stay on for the next couple of days in Rome and get assistance from the Canadian embassy.. Flight took off on time at 1520 .. Eta Toronto around 2030 Etd Toronto 2255 local time Arrived edmonton around 0200 Arrived home around ...

    ... of indigenous guides and inhabitants (check!) and then treating them like stupid little children (check!) ... though, and I'll give them this, they did sign treaties with them (and broke them, of course, or ignored them, of course!), which we Aussies never managed.

    Interesting enough to spend a couple of hours there, and then I headed off to Fort Edmonton Park ... another historical recreationy attraction. The usual ...

    ... cloudy like in hell, the next day can be minus 30 , sunny, cloudless day , on day third it may turn warmer again with some snow to come. Worst of all is the combination of snow, cold temperatures and wind chill. Fortunately those days do not come very often... :-)

    My luggage arrived in Edmonton last night so we went out and picked it up (thanks, Kathy!).
    Westjet also gave me a $100 travel voucher for my troubles!

    ... I entertained her royally and she said she wished all her customers were like us. To top it off, Rock's company has an agreement with Marks, so I got an additional 10%25 off. Now THAT'S service! Upon or return, it was off to the idol competition.
